- "Kein" is used for the negation of indefinite nouns.
- "Nicht" is used to negate verbs, adjectives, or certain nouns, and to negate the entire sentence.

Exceptions!
- "Nicht" can also be used with time expressions when these are to be negated. Example: Wir treffen uns nicht am Montag.
