- To tell the time, you use "Es ist" followed by "Mittag", "Mitternacht" or a specific time.

Exceptions!
- Formal context: The 24-hour format. Example: 20:30 -> Es ist zwanzig Uhr dreißig.
- Sometimes the time is also supplemented with "in the morning", "in the afternoon", "in the evening" or "at night", especially in the 12-hour format.
